Robyn R. Fenty (#2) (/ri’aen@(/ri'aen@/ (listen) Ree-AN -@;[3][4][n 1 was born on the 20th of February, 1988. She is a Barbadian singer, actress, and businesswoman. Born in Saint Michael and raised in Bridgetown, Barbados, Rihanna auditioned for American record producer Evan Rogers who invited her to the United States to record demo tapes. Following her joining Def Jam, in 2005 Rihanna gained a lot of attention through the release of her two first studio albums, Music of the Sun (2005) and A Girl Like Me (2006). These albums were heavily influenced by Caribbean music, and made it to the top ten positions on the US Billboard 200 Chart. Good Girl Gone Bad (2007) was the third album released by Rihanna. This album incorporated elements from dance-pop and made Rihanna a symbol for sex in the world of music. Rihanna was awarded her first Grammy Award for "Umbrella" an album-charting hit song that launched Rihanna into the spotlight. Her next studio albums, Rated R (2010), Loud (2010) and Talk That Talk (2011), continued her mix of R&B and pop. Unapologetic (2012) was her first Billboard 200 top-ten album. Numerous chart-topping songs were released from the albums such as "Rude Boy", ("Only Girl in the World")" and "What's My Name?" ", "S&M", "We Found Love", "Where Have You Been" and "Diamonds". Anti (2016) was her eighth studio album. It showed a fresh artistic direction after she quit Def Jam. It became her second US number one album and featured the chart-topping track "Work". Rihanna has collaborated with a variety of artists over her musical career. They include Jay-Z and Kanye West, Jay-Z, Jay-Z, Kanye Ne-Yo, and Shakira. Rihanna is the second-most-sold female artist in music, with more than 250 million albums sold around the world. Rihanna has had number one and 31 top ten top singles in the US, and a top ten single in the UK with 30 songs. Her accolades include nine Grammy Awards, 13 American Music Awards (including the Icon Award), 12 Billboard Music Awards, six Guinness World Records, the NAACP's President's Award, and an Academy Award nomination. Time listed her as one of the 100 most influential individuals in the world in 2012 and 2018. Forbes classified her as one of the top ten highest-paid celebrities in 2012 and 2014.
